Storyline

In the supplement we return to the role of the mercenary (or mercenary woman) V, who is contacted by the mysterious netrunner Songbird. The woman is well aware that the protagonist's life is heading to the end, but offers to help him, as long as he rescues the president of the New United States of America, namely Rosalind Myers, beforehand. 

It won't be an easy task, especially since the Space Force One plane carrying the politician crashes into Dogtown - an autonomous part of Night City, snatched from the city government by former Colonel Kurt Hansen during the Unification War. His paramilitary unit, the Barghest, swiftly begins the hunt for the president.

Mechanics

Cyberpunk 2077: Specter of Freedom opens a new district for us - Dogtown is formally part of Pacifica and Night City, but in reality it is an entity completely independent, governed by its own laws. Under Kurt Hansen's leadership, it has become a place off-limits to corporations, and an ideal refuge for black market arms and implant dealers. Dogtown is a unique region that can be explored both horizontally and vertically, via rooftops and bridges built between buildings. The architecture of the new district is a perfect example of the resourcefulness of residents forced to cope with overcrowding. Following the model of the basic version, in the add-on we get different options for solving each problem. Thanks to the spy nature of the expansion, a new skill tree has appeared in the game, giving us alternative ways to infiltrate the enemy. With the division into detectable and undetectable hacks, we are able to plan our movements accordingly, while not betraying our presence. Enthusiasts of direct clashes, in turn, lived to see the possibility of firing from vehicles and even machines with mounted weapons.
